The infrastructure for home-based care
Parachute Health connects healthcare providers, suppliers, and payors in a shared digital network so patients receive the equipment they need at home.
Our Why
Healthcare doesn’t end at discharge. But too often, the transition from hospital to home is fragmented, manual, and hard to manage.
We’re building a better system.
To build a world of healthcare where all patients have a soft landing, driven by transparency, accountability, and reliable communication.
A world where using an insurance card is as simple and trustworthy as using a credit card, and every patient receives the care they need, on time.
Connectivity is the foundation of coordination. Transparency is what builds trust. Speed and clarity are patient outcomes. And every order is a patient waiting to get home.
Home-based care has long relied on manual workflows like fax, phone calls, and follow-up. Orders are often incomplete, communication is fragmented, and patients are left waiting.
Parachute replaces that with a shared digital network where:
- Orders are clean and complete from the start
- Healthcare providers, suppliers, and payors are connected
- Order status and progress are visible to everyone involved
- High-quality providers can stand out based on performance
Why we started
In 2013, my father underwent major back surgery at 78 years old.
The surgery was successful. But what happened next revealed a much bigger problem. When he was discharged, he needed a walker to safely recover at home. It was a simple order. It should have been there when he arrived. It wasn’t.
Days turned into weeks. And in that time, I watched him struggle to move safely around his home, relying on furniture for support and risking serious injury every day. This wasn’t a failure of medicine. It was a failure of coordination.
Despite world-class care and a system that spent tens of thousands of dollars on surgery, it couldn’t reliably deliver a $40 piece of equipment. As I dug deeper, I realized this wasn’t unique. A significant portion of medical equipment orders are delayed, denied, or lost due to missing documentation, manual processes, and lack of visibility.
That’s when it became clear: The biggest risk to patients isn’t always the procedure. It’s what happens after. Parachute Health was built to fix that. To ensure that when a patient leaves the hospital, the system doesn’t break down, and care doesn’t stop.
Because every patient deserves a safe landing at home.
