Blue Cross Blue Shield of TN is now on DME Navigator

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee has partnered with Optum through DME Navigator to support their member DME benefit.

DME Navigator & BCBS Tennessee Partnership

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee has partnered with Optum to leverage DME Navigator as part of their approach to streamline durable medical equipment orders for their members and HME Provider partners. Through the DME Navigator platform, in-network HME Providers will receive orders through Parachute, and soon, will be able to submit authorizations for BCBS Tennessee members through the Parachute Platform.

A Message from BCBS Tennessee

Beginning March 6, 2026, BlueCross participating providers should order most types of durable medical equipment (DME) through the Parachute Health DME Navigator online portal. This new process allows providers to order DME supplies from CareCentrix in-network providers.

If you're new to Parachute Health, you'll need to create an account to begin using DME Navigator. After you register, the Parachute Health team will contact you to schedule onboarding and provide training to help you begin submitting DME orders.

If you're already a Parachute Health prescriber, contact your Parachute representative or email the support team to learn more about DME Navigator features. They can assist with activating EHR or single sign-on integration and help you transition to the updated ordering experience required for DME beginning March 6, 2026. If you have additional questions, please contact your Provider Network Manager.

Thank you for being a valued provider in our network.

How Parachute Health Supports DME Navigator

Parachute's Role

Parachute is the technology platform supporting digital order routing and authorization workflows. As health plans and benefit managers evolve authorization requirements, Parachute's role remains focused solely on digital workflows to drive efficiency for HME providers, not contracting, reimbursement, or network design.

Parachute does NOT:

  • Negotiate contracts or rates
  • Determine network participation
  • Manage reimbursement policies
  • Control claim adjudication

These areas are managed by DME Navigator, through Optum and CareCentrix.

Implementation Process

1

Phase 1 - Go Live: Notes & IDDSI

Parachute's role:

  • Digitally routes orders to in-network HME providers
  • Reduces leakage
  • Drives order volume through your CareCentrix contract
2

Phase 2 - Authorization Integration (Auth)

Submit authorization and digital end-to-end integrations. Based on criteria passed in, you can navigate if authorization is needed and send requested data instantly, digitally.
